seven go-to tofu marinades

Seven ideas to get your creative juices flowing. All for 275 g (10oz) of tofu.

1- Teriyaki
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp honey or agave
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp onion powder

2 - Asian
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin (japanese rice wine)
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp brown sugar
pinch of cayenne

3- Thai
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp fish sauce or vegan/vegetarian equivalent
1 tsp grated ginger
1 thai red chili, chopped finely
1 garlic clove, crushed

4 - BBQ
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp honey or agave
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp hot chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 garlic clove, crushed
dash of liquid smoke

5 - Moroccan
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp agave or brown sugar
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp turmeric

6 - Chicken substitute
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried sage

7 - Mexican
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp agave
1 tbsp tomato puree
2 tsp hot chilli powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
